How payment works

Payment is by bank transfer or cash, at least 24 hours before each session. We do not hold card details. If payment has not been received in time, the appointment will be cancelled.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel an appointment, please give at least 24 hours’ notice. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full, as we are usually unable to fill the slot at short notice. We understand that life sometimes makes this hard. Please contact us as soon as you know.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on the nature of the difficulties you are bringing. CBT is generally a short-term therapy, and many people begin to make meaningful progress within six to twelve sessions. Longer-term therapy is offered where this is more appropriate.

Following your assessment session, we will agree a recommended number of sessions together. This is a starting point, not a fixed contract; we review progress as we go and adjust as your needs change.

What is included

The fee covers the 50-minute session and any preparation or session notes. Between-session work, such as short reading, paced exercises, or experiments to try, is part of how CBT works, and we will agree it together each week. There is no separate charge for it.

Confidentiality

Sessions are held in confidence, to the standards of our professional body, and we are fully GDPR compliant. The only exceptions are where there is a serious concern about safety or risk of harm, or where we are legally required to disclose. Wherever possible, this would be discussed with you first.
